Where Is Your Lodge?

Where Is Your Lodge?

As we begin a new Lodge year in Elkdom all of us, every Officer, Member, and Lodge must put our full effort into curbing the decline of membership in our Order. If we each put our mind to it this challenge, we have been faced with for the past thirty years can be reversed. Remember the challenge is not only getting new members but also keeping the ones, we have and reinstating ones we may have lost previously. Below is a chart labeled “RACE TO THE BOTTOM.” This chart reflects the current number of delinquents as of 01/13/2019. My challenge to each lodge is to get to bottom of this list with the least number of delinquents as fast as you can. I will ask that this first list be posted on the Web site and I will update the chart on the Web as new information becomes available, at least every two weeks, so you can see how your lodge is doing. How fast can your Lodge get there?

Calabash Donates Computers to Senior Center

The Calabash Lodge recently donated two computers to the Brunswick Senior Resource Center in Calabash, thanks to a grant from the North Carolina Charitable Trust.  The new computers will allow access to a computer for the 1500+ Brunswick County seniors who are registered at the Center, who do not have home computers or internet access.   The Elks Lodge will also be providing volunteers, as requested, to assist any seniors that need advice on how to use a computer or navigate the web.

Pictured with the new computers are Holley Norris, Assistant Director of the Center, Lodge Trustee Mark Kerr, and Leading Knight Bob Paoletti.

Sanford Elks Lodge supports 3 Alarm Toy Drive

The Sanford Elks Lodge members are proud to collect toys to support our local fire departments participation in the 3 alarm toy drive.

In addition, we have recognized the need of the older (teenage) kids that can be overlooked on toy drives.  It is with that thought the local Elks reached out to the Elks National Foundation for a $2,000 Beacon grant to allow us to buy tablets with head phones to meet the need of the teen.

The mission of the Elks National Foundation is to help Elks build stronger communities. We fulfill this pledge by investing in communities where Elks live and work.
