John W. Lawrence
2022-2023 NCSEA STATE PRESIDENT
I am thoroughly excited by the challenges and opportunities that are on the horizon for the 2022/2023 North Carolina Elk year. I look forward to working with the officers and members of the NCSEA to accomplish the goals of this great organization. The following is a brief summation of my life as an Elk.
I retired from Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia in 2006 after serving for over 25 years as a Technical Education Instructor. My wife Cheryl and I moved to New Bern NC in June of that year. I joined the New Bern Lodge #764 in July and in 2007 took the position of Loyal Knight. In 2008 I was the Leading Knight and in 2009 became the Exalted Ruler and served two consecutive terms in that position. In 2012 I became the East District VP and in 2013 was Esquire to the DD. In 2014 I became the District Deputy at the Grand Lodge Convention in New Orleans. In 2021 was elected to the position of President-Elect and became the NC State President in May of 2022. Some of my accomplishments include:
-
- Lodge 764 officer from 2007 to present, currently the Lodge Esquire
- Lodge 764 Chairman of the BOD 2011-2016
- Lodge 764 Officer of the Year 2017
- NCSEA Ritual and Protocol Chairman 2014-2016
- Certified GL Ritual Judge 2016
- NCSEA Charitable Trust Representative 2015-2017
- NCSEA Scholarship Committee member 2015 to present
- Special Representative to the GL 2015 to present
I would like to thank the NCSEA Officers and members for allowing me to serve as NCSEA President for the 2022/23 year.
