The American Flag flying high above Fayetteville Elks Lodge #1081 was damaged during the high winds and the 14″ of rain from Hurricane Matthew last month. Exalted Ruler Doug Cooke with the assistance of the East Central District Deputy, Tommy H. Byrd , replaced the Flag with a new one and will be retiring the damaged flag.

You may well be proud of your respective lodge. This year there were a record number of Freedom Grant applications, with 484 Lodges submitting applications. It was a very competitive year.
Please pass on to your Lodges that didn’t receive Freedom Grants to consider using Gratitude or Beacon Grants to serve veterans and/or military members.
You can go to elks.org and then go to Elks National Veterans Service Commission for additional details and news.
